Hi Joan, I have another idea, not sure if it’s possible but it would be cool.
Since Modbus doesn’t support STRING datatypes, could you make the app handle an array or range of integers and then display their ASCII equivalent in a parsed string?
I can imagine the setup file entry looking something like this:
string1 INT HR001 slave_node:=1;page:=”Strings”;label:=”16 Character String”;style:=ascii;count:=16;
That example would read 16 integers starting at HR001 and convert them to their ascii equivalent and display them in SM as a string of characters.
What do you think?
This is certainly possible and even there are some parts of the source code that are ‘prepared’ for it.
It will eventually come out some time. Thanks for the suggestion.
Update: ScadaMobile 2.0 now fully supports STRINGS.
